Product Description |
An inexpensive alternative to brooms, dustpans, and bending over to get at the last of the dirt pile, the cordless, bagless, yet surprisingly effective Dirt Devil Broom Vacuum is well suited to heavy-duty sweeping and vacuuming on hard-surface floors of all types. Where it really shines, though, is for quick touch-ups--the dog-hair tumbleweeds and stray Cheerios of everyday life. 60% more powerful than the Broom Vacuum's last incarnation, its 9.6 volt motor has plenty of juice for sucking up debris from tile, laminate, hardwoods, and linoleum. Users with bad backs will appreciate the foot-activated on/off switch, and at just 3-1/2 pounds, without cumbersome power cords to trip over, the unit maneuvers with admirable ease. It's easy to see when the transparent dirt cup is full, and the canister snaps off easily for emptying. Brushed-edge cleaning extends the unit's reach, and the 10-inch-wide nozzle feels more like a broom than a skinny stick vacuum. To recharge, simply plug into the included adaptor when storing. The Dirt Devil Broom Vacuum is not intended for wet spills or carpeted surfaces, but for dry messes, crumbs, and dust, it's a solid value and so easy to use that you just might find yourself sweeping the kitchen floor more often. The unit measures a compact 21 by 13 by 1-1/2 inches and is covered by a one-year warranty. < I>--Mary Park

Works for me

This does pretty much what you expect it to. It's very easy to use, and helps me get to places I can't normally reach. Far more convenient than a standard broom, and doesn't scratch my floors like a regular vacuum. Not very powerful, but I didn't really expect it to be.
Not the best broom

I wanted this broom so bad but now I never use it. A real broom and dust pan works better for me. But maybe when I am a mom it might be good.
Not as good as it should be

I got one of these for Christmas this year. I can almost say I hate it. It is heavy and clogs up easily. I have 2 cats and a dog that shed and the hair will clog it fast. I wanted one because I have a bad back and though it would help me to sweep up faster. Wrong. Sweeping hurts and this extra weight makes it almost unbearable to do. There are times when I have to hold the sweeper over one spot of dust for a long time before it will suck up the items. My suggestion is to not waste your money like I did. Not worth it.
Not impressive

It looks good on the commercial. The thing does not pick up well. I had to sweep the floor manually and then use this vacuum to pick up. This way, I am sure I can get a small area cleaned up before the battery runs out. It did last about 3 years of very light gentle use. Finally, it just started smelling like it will blow out! I guess that is all the life its got!
I will definitely not recommend this. There got to be some better broom vaccum out there!

Disappointed

Have to say I agree with the person who said "It is somewhat heavy and awkward to maneuver. Also, the area where it actually vacuums is a small square in the middle of the broom, so you have to have the hole over your dirt/debris in order for it to actually vacuum. It just seemed easier to use a regular broom and dust pan." I was disappointed with this product.
