| I shopped around for my wife on the internet, trying to purchase what I thought was a decent vacuum. We ended up going to Sears and rummaged through their selection for about two hours and settled on this one. We got it home and were more than satisfied with the power and really impressed with the suction of the hose only to be soon dissapointed with the hose pulling out of the end of the connection on the vacuum itself making it impossible to use the hose. I called the service provider only to find out they were about 60 miles away and they were waiting on a new hose for another customer. Forget it! I was so stinking mad as I had spent over 300.00 on this "Beautiful" machine, boy do I feel stupid. Finally glued the hose back together only to have the internal hose plug where I ended up taking the machine apart to unplug it. Here we are 6 months out and the hose suction stopped working and I can't get it to work anymore. I doesn't even clean that good with the regular floor brush as the suction isn't as good as it was when new. Save your money. I HOPE THESE CROOKS THAT MAKE THIS MACHINE ARE SLEEPING GOOD AT NIGHT. |
Heavy... they are not kidding

Went to consumer reports to research vacuum and everything that CR recommended in my price range ended up getting 2.5 stars or less by consumers so I came to Amazon to see what you had to say. Bought this vacuum because of the reviews and yesiree... it's a heavy vacuum. Going to have to switch arms when vacumming so the muscles I get are even!
Vacuum was easy to assemble, just click to attach. I like that it has just a simple toggle switch for carpet or hard floor. My last vacuum had a dial that I never liked and was hard to turn when it got older. This vacuum does a great job of picking up dirt and pet hair. I especially liked the attachment to do the stairs as that was motorized also. Nice long power cord and I thought I was going to be concerned about the length of the hose but when it was on the bottom of the stairs, it reached 12 stairs but not the very top stair. I was still pleased how far the hose would go and with time I think it will reach the top. I ended up getting this vacuum on another site for $239.99 with free shipping so the price was right. I also like how with a simple pull of a tab, the bottom opens up and empties into the trash. Very large cup to hold what it vacuums up. Easy to maintain, with a another pull of tab the filter pops out and its easy to clean. I recommend checking the rollers on the vacuum after each use and also when you use the attachment and remove any hair that has tangled. No complaints after 2 uses, so far... so good. I would have gave it 5 stars but it really is very heavy. |

| I own the 8505 model, which looks identical to this, but the trim is green instead of orange. I've had it for about 2 years now and have had no issues of any kind with it. Well, once my girlfriend vacuumed up about a dozen puzzle pieces with the hose and I had to dig those out, but I'd say any vacuum short of a shopvac would have a problem there. Anyway, I've had none of the problems these other reviewers are talking about and I own 3 cats, one of which is long hair, and an Australian shepherd, which is also long hair. So I've got some serious pet hair in my house. This vacuum has never failed me and is so easy to clean and empty, even my girlfriend can do it. Sometimes. I will agree that it is pretty heavy, but no heavier than any other vacuum with equal suction power. I'll also add that I own an Electrolux washer and their smaller Rapido(the orange one, not the green) vacuum and both of those are excellent products as well. |
Love it

I bought this vacuum to replace my Dyson Animal that broke. It could have been repaired but its 6 years old and I did not want to invest 150.00 into it to have fixed.
I decided on this vacuum based on reviews from another websight. The reviews there were very high. I have 2 large hairy dogs and 2 sets of stairs. The Electrolux picks up more hair and dirt than the Dyson did in several vacuuming sessions. I have 2 sets of stairs and the stair too is quite small however it gets the corners and crevices clean where the larger stair tool from my Dyson could not. The vacuum is heavy but seems well built. My Daughter and I have long hair so I clean the brush bar evertime I use the vacuum. Hauling the vacuum up and down the stairs is a pain in my back but is worth it because it cleans so well. They only flaw that I find in this vacuum is the cord seems short to me, I think that if it were about 10 feet longer I could vacuum each level with out having to change outlets. |

| We have a golden retriever who sheds a lot, and my wife is amazed a the amount of dog hair she is picking up; now that she can see the tornado shaped hair and dirt in the container. For the short time that we have had it, it has worked very nicely. I like the attachments being right there for you, and the removable wand. |
