With a custom power boost function for serious matting and soiling, Hoover offers their EmPower bagless vacuum for household cleaning needs. The upright 12-amp vacuum offers two power settings and five height levels to accommodate a wide variety of floor and carpet types, while eradicating both deeply embedded debris and light layers of dust. With a long-lasting HEPA cartridge filter, the vacuum also improves an environment's air quality, stripping away dust mites, ragweed, and most grass pollen. In removing and containing these allergens, the newly vacuumed room provides relief for sufferers of seasonal allergies like hay fever and helps minimize the discomfort for individuals with cat or dog allergies.

To ensure a clean carpet, the 15-inch wide vacuum head features a helpful headlight to illuminate soiled patches. The agitation from the vacuum's brush roll uproots dirt from even the plushest carpet, with the option of the push button power boost for heavy-duty cleaning. To accommodate households with sleeping babies, children at study, or other volume sensitive inhabitants, the EmPower model is endowed with a Hush mode, operating on lower power for quieter maintenance. Debris travels through a Teflon-coated HEPA cartridge filter into a sealed dual-chamber dust cup. The chambers are transparent to allow easy monitoring of the dust cup's fullness. The dust cup detaches from the vacuum body for easy emptying. Vacuum tools and accessories include a powered hand tool for pet hair and stair step cleaning, extension wand, upholstery nozzle, crevice wand, and an extra-reach hose. The bang for the buck with this vacuum is excellent. I've used this vacuum throughout my house as well as in my cars. The detachable hose (and the various hose attachments) made quick work of the interior filth in both my cars. Emptying the dust bin takes only seconds. I have tried to use it on my wood floors since there are multiple carpet length settings (one of which is bare floor) and I came to the conclusion that sweeping is just more effective since it's just as quick and you don't have to put up with the noise of the vacuum echoing off the wood floor.

Overall, I recommend this vacuum to anyone who does or doesn't want to spend over $100 on a vacuum.

I was very excited about getting this but I am disappointed. It's really not picking up as much as it blows things away from the vacuum(not great when you have pet hair). I have a hardwood floors, I strongly recommend that you do not get this if you have hardwood floors. The wheels are horrible, it's hard to roll when not vacuuming. It's heavier than I thought it would be too and the hose also doesn't reach very far.

Only bad thing i have to say about it is its a little heavy , but once uyou turn it on its like it needs no effort to push..it glides across the carpet...Love this vacuum cleaner

This is one of the best vacuum for the price. We are senior citizens and My wife said it had so much power that it could almost clean on it's own with out holding on to the vacuum. It is easy to move and lightweight.Great product.

This vacuum cleaner surpassed all expectations! I have a black lab and this cleaner picks up every last hair. I can't believe that any cleaner out there could do a better job so why spend hundreds of dollars when $90 will do. I have very big rooms in my house and the cord covers each room with plenty of room to spare. Not having to mess with bags is awesome! I had no problem with dust flying around when I emptied the cup. I emptied it in the kitchen with no mess.
I can't imagine anyone not being happy with this vacuum.
